Hua Mulan is a legendary Chinese Woman warrior from the Northern and Southern Dynasties period (420–589) of Chinese History, described initially in the Ballad of Mulan. In the ballad, Hua Mulan, disguised as a man, took her aged father's place in the army. Many years later, the battle ended, Khan of the Northern Dynasty gave her a senior official position, but she refused the position and asked for Khan’s permission to let her return home. When her former comrades visited her at home, they were shocked to see her dressed as a woman. Hua Mulan has been highly respected by the Chinese People as a dutiful daughter for hundreds of years.
