The Beijing International Book Fair (BIBF) has been organized by the China National Publications Import & Export (Group) CO.,LTD. since 1986. Over the past 35 years, BIBF has become the second largest book fair in the world, attracting exhibitors and visitors from more than 97 countries. BIBF is not only one of the most influential fairs for professionals from the entire publishing community for communicating and conducting business in China, but it is also a unique venue where cultures across countries or regions meet and are showcased. The 28th BIBF will be held from 14th to 18th September 2021.

In 2020, BIBF launched its digital platform, SMART!BIBF, which includes the official website and mobile app, and it has been upgraded this year with more SMART features.

The SMART!BIBF has enabled the community to rebuild connections and further transformed BIBF into an all-year-round digital book fair. In parallel with the physical 2021 BIBF, the digital edition of the book fair will be held via the BIBF’s upgraded digital platform. At the same time, the SMART!BIBF will provide three types of services to the publishing community: SMART!Live, SMART!Connect and SMART!Talk. SMARTS!Live will help overseas publishers to take part in the book fair and, in particular, to communicate with onsite visitors during the five days. SMART!Connect and SMART!Talk are tailored services which help to keep the publishing community informed and connected throughout the year.
