Born in 1924, Prof. Ye Jiaying has devoted her whole life to classical Chinese poetry. She taught in many top universities in Taiwan region, the United States and Canada. Since 1974, she returned to China every summer to teach at numerous universities including Nankai University in Tianjin. After her retirement from the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada in 1989, she chose to teach at Nankai University until today. The book collates Prof. Ye’s manuscripts and more than 100 precious pictures of her teaching and writing at the Nankai campus, as well as anecdotes contributed by her students, family members, friends and assistants about Prof. Ye, showcasing the warm relationship between Prof. Ye and Nankai.
