The author Liang Heng is a famous scholar, journalism theorist, and writer. He served as a journalist of Guangming Daily, deputy director of the State Press and Publications Administration, deputy editor-in-chief of People’s Daily, an NPC deputy, doctoral supervisor at the Renmin University of China, member of the National Committee of China Writers Association, general advisor for the Chinese language textbooks for primary and secondary education of the People’s Education Press, two-time board member of the Lu Xun Literary Prize, and chief science education and humanities expert of the National Forestry and Grassland Administration. His works include his journalist work series A Report’s Notes, Notes of A Judge, Director’s Notes, and An Editor’s Notes; prose collections Ferry Seeking, Dust Cleaning, Historical Figures, and Understanding China; a novel in captioned chapters on the history of science Scientific Evolution: Mathematics-Physics-Chemistry. His works have been included in more than 60 textbooks for primary, secondary, and higher education. Liang has received a range of awards, such as Zhao Shuli Literary Prize, Lu Xun Essay Prize, Feng Zikai Prose Award, National Popular Science Works Award, China Outstanding News Award, and Five Top Projects Award of the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee.
