Dan Zhaoyi is a famous Chinese Piano educationist and professor who enjoys special allowance from the State Council. Also, he is a member of the China Musicians' Association, the 4th vice-chairman of Guangdong Musicians' Association, chairman of Shenzhen Musicians' Association, vice chairman of Sichuan Piano Committee, and the honorary president of Shenzhen Piano Committee. Professor Dan had taught Li Yundi, Chen Sa, Zhang Haochen, and more than 20 students who won over 60 international piano competitions worldwide, which is phenomenal and significant in the Chinese piano education and performance history.

As an author, Professor Dan had published New Paths – Piano Basic Course, Piano Guidance and Teaching for Children, New Piano Method for Beginning and Progression, Selection of Leveled Works for Piano Performing, Children's Chopin, Selections of Chinese Piano Works for Children and the series of the Educationist Dan Zhaoyi, Piano Teacher of the World Champions.
